Origin Robotics Unveils Blaze Autonomous Interceptor at DSEI 2025
Latvia-based Origin Robotics presented its latest unmanned aircraft systems (UAS)—the Blaze interceptor and the Beak bomber—during the Defence and Security Equipment International (DSEI) exhibition held in London from September 9 to 12, 2025.
Blaze Interceptor: Advanced Autonomous Capabilities
According to Origin Robotics’ CEO, Agris Kipurs, the Blaze interceptor is designed for rapid deployment, capable of being assembled and operational within a mere 10 minutes. Once activated, Blaze operates autonomously with advanced features in detection, take-off, and target acquisition.

- The system is equipped with localized radar and sensor technologies that enable it to identify hostile loitering munitions and UASs.
- Upon detection, the interceptor autonomously engages, though final confirmation from a human operator is obtained when the target is within striking distance.

- Blaze’s capabilities are augmented by an integrated radar system and an electro-optic/infrared (EO/IR) sensor suite, enabling autonomous identification and tracking of targets.
- The operator receives prompts to decide whether to execute an attack, return to base, or initiate self-destruction in cases of communication failure or critical system malfunction.

- Designed to intercept loitering munitions and UASs traveling at speeds of up to 200 kilometers per hour, Blaze maintains an effective range of 16 kilometers.
- In the terminal engagement phase, the interceptor utilizes a high-explosive fragmentation charge, targeting the fuselage of its adversary from below.
Blaze is currently operational with unspecified NATO and allied forces, particularly focusing on countering threats posed by platforms akin to the Shahed/Geran system. Notably, the operational cost of Blaze is approximately one-tenth that of conventional air-defense missile systems, making it an economically viable solution.
Beak Bomber: Complementing UAS Capabilities
